Big friendly front porch with a table and chairs, and a great view of the beautiful tree-lined street. Gorgeous landscaping welcomes you as you pull in the drive. The living room has a large comfy couch, smart HDTV with basic network channels and streaming apps, wood-burning functional fireplace, books, magazines, games, puzzles, and more to entertain you. The dining room has a large table that seats 8 and beautiful built-in cabinets with plenty of service-ware for entertaining and games. There's also a record player with stereo and Bluetooth pairing. Bedroom one has a queen size memory foam bed and is like sleeping on a big cloud that you sink right down into and don't move all night. HDTV with streaming services. Bedroom two has a full memory foam mattress and large windows and natural light. HDTV with streaming services. Bedroom three has a convertible twin to king bed with comfy thick memory foam mattresses. Also has a dedicated work space with printer and extra monitor. The bathroom has a bathtub and filtered shower head with awesome water pressure, commode, and large vanity sink. Extra toiletries in case you forget something. The basement is unfinished and used for storage, but there is laundry down there for your use. The kitchen has a gas stove, Air fryer, coffee bar, toaster, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge/freezer. There is an island with a drop down leaf. There's a pretty big fenced-in backyard, lots of established landscaping, large propane grill, and patio furniture with an umbrella. This is my main residence and I do have a dog—neither one of us will be there during your stay! However, if you are allergic, this is not the house for you.

The Depot B & B: A Peaceful Retreat

Just minutes from campus, downtown, and the airport, The Depot is a historic home attached to 5 wooded acres, a lake, and a "big sky" view across the prairie for watching sunsets and night skies. Originally a train depot constructed in 1857, it has been fully modernized for contemporary living. However, we have taken great effort to preserve its rustic charms that Abraham Lincoln would have known during his circuit riding days before the Civil War. These include graffiti from 1917.

Next to the heart of the UIUC campus and surrounded by mature trees, this spacious, serene guest suite offers a relaxing stay. It has a private entrance with a foyer, a studio style main room and a bathroom. Sleeps two comfortably with a queen bed and a sofa (not a pull-out) for lounging. No TV, washer, or dryer. No kitchenette, but a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker are provided. Snacks and coffee pods provided. Not accessible for limited mobility. No parties and no smoking.

Our 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom, quaint craftsman home is in downtown Urbana. The home has been restored to the era when Roger Ebert lived there — according to details in chapter 1 of his autobiography, “Life Itself.” We're a 12-minute drive to downtown Champaign + a 5-minute drive to the U of I campus. We're happy to host families, too! Find a Mid Century Modern style complete with books written by Ebert; his school yearbooks from Urbana High; + more Illini and Urbana-centric nostalgia.
