The summer in Latvia is very short and if you want to swim in the open water, but you don't have enough time to go to the sea, or you are simply feel sick of mainstream overcrowded Jurmala beaches, Kipsala Beach is a perfect solution. Beach get cleaned almost everyday.Beach volleyball, beach football and other outdoor activities are available here and it is just 5-10 minutes walking from the Old Town. Nice view towards rest of the city and it is located on Kipsala island, which can be a point of interest itself as well because of old wooden houses and cobbled roads.Food and drinks are availble in big shopping centr Olimpija, which is 2min walking from beach.

A "riverbeach" at the very center, next to Vansu bridge. Recently opened and a nice place to enjoy a drink and maybe even go swim a little.

On the left bank of the Daugava, a wonderful view of Old Town's panorama awaits you at Ķipsala Municipal Beeach. Swim, sunbathe, get active with volleyball or football, or try one of the bistros. Here you can gaze at the busy city while relaxing.
