Take a short walk from the door of the cottage to Mouse Island, a beautiful peninsula where you can pick brambles when in season and enjoy spotting varied wildlife. Seals are often spotted here.

Lachlan Bay is only a short drive from the cottage and from the Inver car park you can see Strathlachlan church, a Georgian gem, Kilmorie Chapel, the resting place of the Maclachlan clan chiefs and of course, the Old Castle. There are further coastal paths and bays to explore and this Bay is teeming with wildlife and offers spectacular views.

Inveraray is about a 30-40 minutes drive from the cottage and has to be the best example of a historic Scottish town boasting Loch side scenery, traditional architecture, a beautiful Castle and even a jail! It’s a great day out for all the family.

Beinn Ime is the highest mountain in the Arrochar Alps and is a strenuous 3-4 hour walk from Butter Bridge on the A83. The start of this walk is only a 30 drive from the cottage and it is definitely worth climbing as the views from the summit are fantastic. It’s a beautiful walk from start to finish.

The Allt Robuic Waterfalls walk at Glenbranter is an excellent forestry walk which takes you to the impressive Allt Robuic gorge and its waterfalls. This walk is often known as the Lauder walk after Sir Harry Lauder, a famous music hall star and former owner of the Glenbranter estate. This walk is only a short drive from the cottage.
