The Cobbler is an 884 metres mountain located near the head of Loch Long in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is a Corbett, and is an important site for rock climbing in the Southern Highlands. Many maps include the name Ben Arthur, but the name The Cobbler is more widely used. Great Hike! quite steep, a bit challenging. My favourite in the area. Drive to Arrochar and park in the car park on the left just on the head of the loch.

The Cobbler is a popular climb with (on a clear day!) incredible views over the peninsula out towards Arran. The Cobbler is Ben Arthur. Part of the Arrochar Alps, Ben Arthur has three peaks, and is said to look like a cobbler bent over their work – hence the name! Getting there: Drive up to the village or Arrochar at the top of Loch Long.

The Cobbler is one of the best known mountains in Scotland, its three summits forming an instantly recognisable outline. Starting from the car park just off the A83 at Succoth, just to the west of Arrochar, this walk is only a 35 minutes drive from the cottage and we’ll worth the effort.
