Come and enjoy the peace and beauty of Northern Michigan at Grandma's Getaway! We have lovingly restored the interior of this home and it reminds me of being at Grandma's house. We have preserved many of the original elements and created a welcoming space around them. Enjoy Mio Dam pond, the AuSable River and walking trails during the day. In the evening relax in the cozy living room and enjoy a movie or play one of our many board games. Wake up to a beautiful view of the Mio Airport.

Our cabin in the woods is a quiet refuge, not a party place. Built with many unique features: log cabin room with vaulted ceiling, log walls in kitchenette/upstairs small dinette seating area and log wall in sunroom. Carriage style Barn doors, from grandparents old chicken coop. The metal stair railing designed & laser cut with pine trees. Downstairs walkout basement has concrete log beams & posts, as well as some concrete tree branches. Trails are for quiet travel only, no motors.

You can ride in and out to the ORV/snowmobile trails that tour through national forest, take a 5 minute drive to the Au Sable River and scenic Mio Pond, or spend the day with a unique assortment of shopping. If the weather has you down, cuddle up with a blanket, coffee/hot chocolate, and a movie or board game. Located close to many lakes and ponds, this makes the perfect spot for fishing as well!

A deluxe shower house is just steps away, plus a nighttime toilet for convenience. It’s rustic charm with all the essentials for a perfect seasonal escape.

Please note that our family-owned canoe rental operates on the property during daytime hours, adding a fun and lively riverfront atmosphere.
