Griffin - The Lake Superior Riverboat

The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. Lots of unique charm with gold tin ceiling, cozy touches and the Harry Potter Suite. Mesabi Nest can accommodate 6 guests comfortably and is centrally located. Blocks from the Mesabi bike trail and ATV trail right out the back door. There is a good night life, state parks not far away and all the big box stores down the road in Virginia.

The upper lvl has 1BR w/ 1BA, W&D on lower lvl, w/ open area for storage, etc. Lg quiet bkyd w/ fire pit. Can accommodate Lg family or Sm group, air matresses available if needed. Great for short or long stays.

Riverwood Hideaway

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.
