This is an island in the middle of the Detroit river, and it’s a great place for cyclists. It’s five miles around the whole island, which makes it a really easy way to gauge your distance. It’s on the border of Canada and Detroit, so when you’re on the island, you get to see both riverfronts. All the bike lanes on the island are newly paved and flat, so you don't have to deal with any bumpy hills. And there’s a yacht club on the island, so if you can get in, that’s a nice place to be around the people who are movers and shakers in the city.

Belle Isle Park, known simply as Belle Isle, is a 982-acre island park in Detroit, Michigan, developed in the late 19th century. It consists of Belle Isle, an island in the Detroit River, as well as several surrounding islets. The U.S.-Canada border is in the channel south of Belle Isle.
There is lots to do at belle isle from the food trucks, to the nature center, beach and even an aquarium. Check online for hours for the attractions. Lovely place to go and sight see the Detroit skyline.
awesome park for a picnic, great views of the city, a beach, boat rental, aquarium, fountain, fishing.
Miles and miles of gorgeous winding walkable trails along the Detroit River, with the view of Windsor, Canada just across the water. Watch out for the geese (and their droppings), but a gorgeous place to come to for a picnic or a nice walk in nature. And if you're in the mood, visit the aquarium - possibly the oldest in the nation.
