This is a great hike. Wairere Falls are a 50 minute drive from here and it is a 3-4hr return hike to the top through beautiful native bush and past moss covered rocks. There are a couple of bridges to cross as you make your way up. The track is well marked and it is a steady climb to the top where you will have spectacular views over the Waikato. Another option to see the 153m water fall is from a viewing platform half way up to the top. This hike is a great day out from here.

Around 3hrs, can be steep in places but worth the hike!

This is a beautiful walk! If you don't feel like a big walk you can just go for 5-10 minutes and you will come to the first bridge which is a beautiful spot for some photos. There is a look-out half way up where you can see the waterfall. It says that it takes 45 minutes but it is more like 30 minutes. If you are game you can continue right to the top, another 30-45 minutes. It is quite steep but well worth it.
