Now knows as Patty's Tacos, this is a local favorite almost at the north edge of downtown Gualala. You know this place is patronized by locals when they don't even display the prices of the food they serve. And don't you make the mistake of judging the quality of food by the prices. A "little hole in the wall" with consistently good tacos, a good salsa bar, reasonable prices and friendly service. The cuisine is closer to Mex-Mex or Cal-mex than Tex-Mex, which is nice: fresh, crisp and less cheesy and greasy than many places. Highlights so far include the fish tacos, beef Milanesa Combo and the Mole Burrito. Tacos come with avocado chunks. Milanesa is micrometer thin and served with fabulous grilled onions and jalapeños. The mole sauce is sublime. One of the best BBQ pork tacos you will EVER have (including in the Bay Area). Their extensive menu looks solid throughout. Of special note may be their breakfast menu, featuring at least eight different Mexican dishes in addition to worldwide standards such as eggs and bacon. The locals always go for the chicken street style tacos and then load up at the incredible salsa bar You'll find an excellence in Mexican food rarely seen on the Northern California coast.
