Only 10 minutes drive from Lechlade and gives great views across the Cotswolds. Good walking spot too.

WALKS NEAR LITTLE COXWELL Beautiful views and dog friendly. You can park easily on the road at the bottom of Folly Hill and then walk up. This unique 100ft tower is Faringdon’s icon and the last major folly to be built in England. It sits on Folly Hill, within a charming woodland of splendid Scots Pine, some more than 200 years old. Fantastic views over 5 counties. Find out about the history of Folly Hill, Henry James Pye, Oliver Cromwell and the very eccentric Lord Berners (the creator of the Tower and resident Little Coxwell family the Berners-Allsopp). Seek out 24 black birds, Cromwell’s cannon, the many birds and animal sculptures lurking among the trees- there’s even a giraffe! The Folly Tower itself is open twice a month from April to October. The woodland and hill is always open and entry is free.

Walk to the top of the hill, and admire the folly and the views. After that, see how many of the sculptures you can spot amongst the trees.
