Very good traditional French restaurant. Low lighting pretty. Not trendy, so an older crowd but the food is very good. Good lunch prix fixe.
French $$$ 160 E 64th st, NY JoJo used to be a stuffy Jean Georges French restaurant. Then it got a makeover, and reopened as a much more modern version of itself (still run by the same people). The French-leaning dishes are still excellent, including one of our favorite roast chickens in the entire neighborhood. Come here for a nice date, or direct someone here who wants a cool uptown spot with great food but needs a break from Flora Bar.

Elegant townhouse restaurant by Jean-Georges Vongerichten with a seasonal French menu.
Open since 1991, JoJo from Jean-Georges Vongerichten offers casual French dining in a bright, serene townhouse, with a menu of over-the-years classics from its classics menu (example is the salmon sushi with chipotle mayonnaise, or the roasted chicken with olives and saffron and a side of chickpea fries) and its updated menu of meat, fish, and vegetables. Yes, there is a $28 cheeseburger with Russian dressing, onions, and yuzu pickles.
