A family favourite for 20 years. I alternate between sweet chilli hummus and avocado, and a good old ham, cheese sauce and mushroom. (But save room for a banoffee waffle pudding!) gf and vegan options too.

Waffles of all sorts, sweet and savoury. Indoor and outdoor seating. It can attract a queue, but worth the wait. Check the website for evening reservations. Could be combined with a visit to Verulamium Museum and Verulamium Park.

Sweet and savoury waffles made with white, wholemeal or spelt flower in a working water mill cafe. This is a delightful place for snack, drink or lunch if you are around the Verulamium park area.
