Ruins of the Cobb Estate is an easy walk up the street to the top of Lake Avenue and is the starting point for many hikes up the mountain.

Get out for a hike where the city meets the mountain. Top of Lake avenue, Cobb estate provides access to numerous hiking trails in the San Gabriel Mountains. There is a water fountain and the trailhead for the 3 mile hike to Echo mountain. Go early before the temperatures rise!

The hiking trails that you can access from the former Cobb Estate entrance are extensive. You can spend a few short minutes meandering around the original estate grounds, mostly native plants with trails and some of the original driveway and minimal remnants of the estate. Or you can access the trails that can take you on up to hours and hours of hiking excursions up the San Gabriel mountains.
