Another family favorite of a beautiful white sandy beach at Mauna Kea. It’s about a 15 min drive from Hale Keala. Parking is limited to beach access so it’s a hit or miss if it’s open, but there’s outdoor showers and bathrooms and a little bit of a hill to walk from parking to the beach.

This is about a 45-50 minute drive north along the main highway. Mauna Kea beach has beautiful white sand beach, very clean, with easy access to restrooms since it’s off the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. There are a limited number of beach passes given each day and at the security guard shack you simply tell them you’re interested in getting a pass for the beach. If you go there in the morning you increase your chances of getting in.

Beautiful beach for swimming or relaxing. One of the best beaches on the island. Parking is limited, come early

Beautiful beach. Enter through the Mauna Kea Beach Resort gate and ask for a beach pass
