Established in 1915 by Italian immigrant, Cesar Menotti, Townhouse is the oldest bar in Venice and one of the oldest in the Los Angeles area. Its live entertainment basement, known as The Del Monte, was a true speakeasy during Prohibition, cleverly hidden by Menotti’s grocery store, and was a hot nightlife destination for many infamous characters of the day. The Del Monte features live band performances, deejays, comedy and burlesque shows, five to seven nights per week.
