Island hop by taking the ferry to the Outer Banks' towns of Ocracoke and Hatteras. New Bern is a great jumping-off point to many awesome places to visit along NC's coast.

Hop on a ferry and ride over to Ocracoke for the day to go to the beach, grab some food, or visit shops on the island. It’s a 2.5 hour ferry ride one way so be sure to look at the NCDOT ferry schedule to plan your trip.

The ferry to Ocracoke Island is 20 miles aways from the Davis House.

Take the ferry to Ocracoke for the day. We like to take the ferry over, park the car, and rent a golf cart on Ocracoke to explore the island. It's a much more lively island, lots of good restaurants and shops. *Make reservations in the busy season!

Experience the Outer Banks Scenic Byway as you make the 3hr journey across the Pamlico Sound and arrive at Ocracoke Island. Great time, memorable experience. Haven't been in years but I heard it's still a great experience.
