Spirit of the World Heritage Discover the amazing rock carvings along the hiking trail. Wander individually or in groups. Hiking in the World Heritage Site is a 6 km long trail that takes you to three different places with exciting rock carvings. At the carvings there are information signs that tell us about the places and the interpretation of the different carvings. The walk also goes past other cultural-historical sites dating back 8000 years ago. Along the way there are a couple of resting places and a viewpoint with magnificent views of the Tanum plain and the world heritage site. To get here: Vitlycke museum, Vitlycke 2, 457 93 Tanumshede

The highlight of a visit to the museum and Tanum rock carvings is that you can walk freely amongst the carvings or take part in their guided tours in English every day during the summer season. You can also go on a nighttime guided tour where you see the rock carvings by torchlight. An experience to remember! For the kids you can book the Archeology School and the whole family can visit the reconstructed Bronze Age farm to see how people lived 3,000 years ago.
