The festival of Agia Paraskevi at Kato Meria in Amorgos, is one of the biggest celebrations in the Aegean islands, with 3500 to 4000 visitors every July 25th, when they attend the evening praying and pay tribute to the Saint. (You can just attend the festival.) Afterwards they serve "Amorgiamo Patatato" and " pligouri" , two delicious local dishes, with plenty of wine, beer or "raki psimeni" (local liquor) that is accompanied with local music, dance and plenty of Greek "kefi ".
