Said to be Britain’s oldest pub, and another pub and restaurant that we’d recommend … 10 minutes’ drive away in Stow on the Wold.

9 mins NE in Stow. Originally built in 975 AD it’s reputed to be Britain’s oldest Inn. They have a restaurant a cozy restaurant or a more light and airy conservatory. The food is excellent and there’s always a nice welcoming atmosphere there. If you’re struggling to park there is a pay and display at the bottom of the street of shops on the right. It’s a 5 min walk back to the restaurant.

With parts of the building dating back to 947, the Porch House is purported to be Britain's oldest Inn. Located in Stow-on-the Wold, the restaurant serves filling English classics such as Cotswold Lamb Rump.
