For shorter, easier hikes with maximum views, try the popular Beacon Heights Trail or Rough Ridge Trail, both located off the Blueridge Parkway near mile markers 303 and 305 respectively.

Beacon Heights is one of our family’s favorite hikes in the area. It is easy enough for the whole family and the view is spectacular!

This is a great gently-sloping, short hike (10-15 min) with an amazing view at the end. It's rooty & rocky but really fun! Great hike with kids! Milepost 305.2 on Blue Ridge Parkway.

This is another quick and easy hike with some of the best views the Parkway has to offer. It’s another great picnic spot, and even a good night-hike if you’re feeling adventurous. The stars are gorgeous on a clear night.

This hike is relatively minimal work for the highest reward. Steep, but brief, uphill opens to some of the most expansive, beautiful views in the High Country.
