Located just down the road from the cottage, the Valley of the Waters has gorgeous scenery. The main track leads to Empress Falls which is highly recommended. Take a picnic lunch and explore the many smaller tracks off the main track. The smaller tracks lead to streams and smaller, enchanting waterfalls.

Valley of the Waters and Wentworth Falls This needs half a day and a camera! You will need to drive from Blackheath to the village of Wentworth Falls, about 15-20 minutes towards Sydney. Then follow Google Maps to the parking area near the Conservation Hut, which is a coffee shop cafe right at the beginning of the Valley of the Waters track. One option is to walk down to the Valley of the Waters (lots of beautiful waterfalls, grottoes and caves) and then come back up to the Conservation Hut for coffee or lunch. The longer option is to keep going along the track following the signs to Wentworth Falls and Slack’s stairs. It’s easy walking until you get the bottom of the falls, but then it’s a steep walk up lots of stairs to the top; but it’s literally an experience of a lifetime! You’ll need to take plenty of rests on the way up, but the photos you can get are unbelievable. Once you get back to the top it’s a 20 minute flat walk back to the car park. By the time you get home you’ll be tired and hungry, and ready for a hot bath.
