Grab a drink at the W hotel bar at their rooftop bar overlooking the White House and US Treasury. Late night this bar is a hot spot!

This hotel, restaurant, bar, and sometimes night club has the best view of all privately owned establishments in Washington, D.C. It literally looks out over the White House, where you can see snipers and security guards surreptitiously stationed.

Go to the top of the W hotel when you're wandering around near the White House. It has the best view of the city! Also while you're there, find the Renwick Gallery and go next door to Old Ebbitt Grill. It's one of the oldest restaurants in DC and it's huge -- i think it takes an entire city block. They're open very early to very late.
