The absolute BEST way to drive towards the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. With less traffic, this route offers spectacular views of the Smoky Mountains on one side and the Tennessee Valley on the other. On clear days, one can see all the way to the Cumberland Mountains 50 miles to the west. Follow the Smoky Mountain ridgeline from US129 to Walland, TN; y’all are gonna love it!

Great drive for scenic overlook viewing! We have 7 miles of it just 3 miles from us that connects to Interstate 40. There is 22 miles of it (opened Nov. 2018) just outside Pigeon Forge and 29 miles of it in Townsend. It connects to Hwy 129 "Tail of the Dragon"

What a great road and amazing views! This is a quick way to see the beautiful mountains! This is a must do.
