The Pont d'Arc is a large natural stone arch in the Ardèche. The arch is 59 metres wide and 34 m high and it is a very popular canoeing and kayaking area as well as great wild swimming spot. In the near vicinity of the arch is the Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc Cave, containing one of the earliest known Paleolithic cave paintings, about 30,000 years old
