Taughannock Falls State Park's waterfall is one of the outstanding natural attractions of the Northeast. The waterfall plunges 215 feet past rocky cliffs that tower nearly 400 feet above the gorge. You can either drive a couple miles North on Route 89 to get to the front entrance of the park to walk to the bottom of the Falls, or take The Black Diamond Trail from our house and bike/walk/run 3 miles to the top of the Falls. If you're in Ithaca, Taughannock is a must-see. If you're looking for a beach to swim in the lake, head over to the Eastern lake side of the park. www.parks.ny.gov/parks/62/details.aspx

105 Enfield Falls RdThis is probably our favorite local park.
