Great forest for exploring with some excellent vantage points for looking over the Tweed Valley. If you walk from the flat up the High St then turn left on to Leithen Rd at the end carry on up Leithen Rd, on your right you'll pass a car park and come to some houses, between the houses is a path that takes you over and old stone bridge into the forest.

If you walk from Innerleithen high street down Traquair Road past the pub and some houses, on your right you will see an in information sign about the old railway line which is now a pathway/ cycle path which follows the River Tweed through Cardrona, past Glentress and into Peebles.
