Most people know our friends Hilla and Margaret bake the best bread on the coast.
We highly recommend their Friday Pizza nights; something that generally only Sea Ranchers know about. Sourdough crust or gluten free , their pizza is something we crave. These days, it's pick-up only so call ahead and order yours, and be sure to pick them up before they close at 4pm.

This restaurant is hands down, one of the best Japanese restaurants we've ever eaten at. The food, decor and service are all top-notch. Reservations are required, although they do serve walk-ins at the bar. Like with all restaurants on the coast, it's best to call ahead and don't trust the hours posted on the web.

The best grocery on the coast, period. Local meat, vegetables, dairy, seafood and wine. You want it, they probably have it.

Art, Architecture and Supergraphics
The first of the Sea Ranch pools designed by MLTW in 1966. Inspired by earthwork artist like Michael Heizer and Robert Smithson, the structure takes the form of a wind blocking wall, with flying buttresses and "saddle bag" bays that create the interior spaces. Barbara Stauffacher Solomon, the genius graphic designer behind the logo and our famous white street signs, was asked to liven up the interiors when the developers went over budget. In her own words: "I combined the super-sized enthusiasm of California Abstract Expressionism with hard-edge Swiss graphics, and ended up with, however superfluous and superficial, supergraphics."
