Summer and winter fun for all. Downhill tubing is available in the summer and winter time. The new Mountain coaster is such a thrill and younger kiddos can ride on your lap.
Great fun for the family at Winter Park in Alto. A short drive from the Elk and Hare Cabin. Enjoy snow tubing, zip lining, igloo rentals, festive food and other winter activities. 4 and under can tube free down the bunny slope Also, the Mountain Coaster is open and a must do. 10 and under can ride with parents. Concessions are offered at the Winter Park or you can bring your own. Arrive early, and waterproof boots and bibs are recommended.

Sightseeing, casino, dining, entertainment

The resort is open to the public for fishing, paddle boats, horse back riding and ziplining at Mescalero Lake. Pull up a chair and enjoy the views from the hotel lobby. Enjoy the evening at the casino for dinner or a show. Kids arcade is a hit for the littles and a host of dining options. -

Hiking / Fishing -Alto Lake and Grindstone Lake

Alto lake is a favorite for fishermen and scenic views. Beautiful hiking among the pines, with hidden waterfalls and wildlife. Easy 2.6 full loop around lake and trails. Very quiet and perfect for all ages. Walk to the back of Alto lake and descent. On a gravel road to the trails.
Great place for the family or going solo. Five trails totaling 18 miles, mountain biking, hiking or horse back riding. Inflatable obstacle course on the lake. Fishing and Kayaking

Also enjoy hiking, gondola rides, and the one of the longest ziplines in the country. Call ahead for a zipline reservation. Winter Activities: Ski and Snowboard in NM southernmost slopes. This mountain is a gem. Enjoy warmer weather and shorter lines.

Dinner Show

Celebrate the American Cowboy. Western stage show with chuckwagon dinner, horse riding gold mining and many other attractions.
This is was one of the most enjoyable family activities in Ruidoso. Our kids had the best time and we will definitely return.

Maze, go karts, bumper boats, putt putt golf, laser tag, rock mining and more. Fun for the kids. Buying bulk tickets (20) for $100, is good value compared to single ticket activities.

Great trails located at the national park entrance in Ruidoso Cedar Creek area. This area rivals most other mountain towns w/o all the hype. Easy to moderate with the potential to hike short distances or run/ hike longer distances by weaving thru connecting trails. Great views, wildlife, no crowds. Hiking poles available for use at fitness trail entrance. Easy to maneuver if you stay on trail.
