Great place for fish tacos and ceviche. I really like their ceviche, it's not pretentious just good. They might have banda music on or not on the cold bar outside, but you can dine inside or overlooking the ocean peacefully.

This is the best Mexican style rotisserie chicken in my opinion in Playas. They have 1/4, 1/2, or whole chicken combo deal with rice, tortillas and salsa. You can also get a tasty cactus or pasta salad. Combine the pasta and rice in a tortilla for a carb on carb taco combo to replenish energy stores after surfing.

This is a good breakfast spot if you can get a table. If the list is long, check at the bar, those seats and tables next to them are first come first serve. I always order the chilaquiles. They have a nutrition/granola/coffee store inside too.

This is the best Sushi restaurant in Playas and all around top 5 in all of Tijuana, maybe top 1. They have several rolls and nigiri. I always order their ramen soup with beef but you can have it vegetarian too.

This place serves two very traditional Mexican soups, Menudo(beef soup) in the morning until 4pm and Pozole(pork) in the afternoon. Avoid the limbo hour when they will have neither which is around 4-5. They also have tacos de carnitas and they're served on homemade tortillas. Homemade tortillas are always a plus at any restaurant.

Homemade tortillas are always a plus at any restaurant.
This is possibly the best place for tacos in Playas and all of Tijuana for that matter. They have some of the best carne asada tacos(steak). As for the adobada and other varieties I prefer Taconazo, but others swear by this place. I recommend you do a taste test.

Part of any Mexican town is a bakery. Here you can stock up on bolillos and pan dulce. They also make cheesecakes and all other kind of Mexican bread. They have these things that look like a sub, but they're filled with chocolate and cinammon and other stuff, super good.

I thought it was Bar Matt, not Mat but anyway. One of the few if not the only bar in playas that has craft beer in their fridge. They carry several San Diego beers and a few European ones. The vibe is cool and you can request a song to be played. They usually have good music on.

They have a good margarita on the rocks. People party there almost all weeknights until super late, even on Sundays. I don't really like this place a lot at nights because it's not my scene but it's the only place that stays open until 5-6am on weekends.

They only have 3 taps right now but always have something good on. They carry several international beers too so there's something for everyone. It's smoker friendly and also have an outdoor area for those that don't want to be around smokers indoors. It's also next to the boardwalk so you'll have a nice view.

This the best bar in playas. It has the best local beer selection from Aguamala, Insurgente, Border Psycho, and Wendlandt, along with the other national brands like Bohemia and Tecate. They have an area where you can play something similar to Bocce ball, they serve great coffee and they have an attached kitchen run by Karbó, I recommend you try their mushroom tacos or anything on their menu. Good music and friendly service.
