52 Spruce Mtn Rd. Porters Corners NY The trail to the Spruce Mountain fire tower is 1.4 miles long, which includes 0.3 miles on the conservation easement corridor. The first 0.8 miles of trail are on Forest Preserve. The trail then crosses the lands of Saratoga P.L.A.N. and Lyme Timberlands via a cooperative agreement and then back to a small piece of Forest Preserve on which the fire tower sits. The public has access to the tower most of the year, excluding big game hunting season, which opens around the third week in October and runs through early December (actual dates vary annually). The summit of Spruce Mountain is forested, which requires a climb up the tower for a view.

NY8 Johnsburg NY The hike up Crane Mountain and Crane Mountain Pond is a beautiful half-day-long trip. Crane Mountain is located between Warrensburg and Wevertown in Warren County. The trail is on the public Forest Preserve, part of the Wilcox Lake Wild Forest. The two hiking trails to Crane Mountain lead to a high elevation pond, a popular swimming hole during warm weather, and the rocky, gnarly summit of Crane Mountain, which has stunning views of Garnet Lake, Bullhead Mountain, and many knobs and rolling hills of the southern Adirondacks. The trailhead offers two options to the summit of Crane Mountain. One way offers a direct 1.4-mile hike to the summit, which is consistently steep. The shorter route does include climbing a thick wooden ladder at one point that is more than 30 feet high. This ladder would be tough for anybody with a dog. The other option is a 3-mile trail to the summit that passes around Crane Mountain Pond, where the last 0.5 miles is a steep ascent to the summit.

Enjoy this 5.5-mile out-and-back trail near Northville, New York. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 46 min to complete. At 0.95 miles you'll reach the first waterfall on Tenant Creek Falls. The trail continues up along the left side, near the waterfall. You are still following yellow DEC discs. Now the trail becomes rougher and a bit tougher to follow. At 2.0 miles you reach the second waterfall and at 2.1 miles you will reach the third and final waterfall. This is a popular trail for birding, fishing, and hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of the day. Beautiful falls and perfect swimming holes for a hot day. The trail has a very mild elevation gain and feels more like a walk in the woods! The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.

However, they may not accompany you into the rows while you’re picking, due to health regulations for fresh fruit. They may hang out with you on roads/parking lots, our market porch, and the upper meadow. Please remember to pick up after them! As one of the oldest continuously operating Orchards in Vermont, we take pride in growing over 140 varieties of apples, as well as peaches, pears, plums, cherries, nectarines, apricots, medlars, quince, and many berries. We are careful stewards of our land and grow all of our fruit following strict Eco-Apple requirements, while striving to minimize our carbon footprint and sustainably contribute to our community.
