If you want to have really nice ice cream very close to our flat, you can't miss Tutti Frutti. I personally recommend you try the 'leche merengada' and 'buenissimo' ice cream, but also try out the real 'leche merengada' - it's a sweet milk refreshment, or 'horchata' a traditional spanish drink made out of chufas.

Awesome place to have tapas and typical spanish food. I recommend the cod with allioli, the 'huevos cabreaos', ensalada de ventresca con tomate but over all, you can't miss the Torrija for dessert, one of the best torrijas in Spain.

This is the only pace in las Ramblas I would eat something. Here you can find one of the best 'Churros con Chocolate' in town, a very typical dish we eat in the afternoon usually or for breakfast. Lovely beach at the Costa Brava, ideal if you are here for a few days with a car and want to see one of the nice beaches in Cataluña. Lovely to snorkel, nice chiringuito and also a restaurant to have very good food, especially fish.

If you like hiking, this mountain has got beautiful scenery, and is in close proximity to Barcelona, around 30' car drive. If you don't want to hike, you can also park on top of the mountain, by the monastery, visit the 'Moreneta' our black virgin and enjoy the views from the top.

Costumbres y cultura
Do not eat at any restaurant in Las Ramblas.
You will get cheap quality food. They attract tourists with nice looking and big cocktails, however food is terrible and low quality. Avoid at any cost!

Book a Free Walking Tour
There are many free walking tours available in Barcelona. I personally recommend booking one for your first or second day in the city, that covers mainly the old town. It will give you a general impression of Barcelona, its history and heritage, and it's free! You can give the guide a tip, but this is up to you and if you liked their guided tour!
If you enjoy architecture, I also recommend taking a free Gaudi walking tour.
