Food scene

This small quaint French restaurant is a wonderful treat! The restaurant is within easy walking distance (even in inclement weather) from Creekside Base Camp and well worth a visit if you are a foodie! Book well in advance due to its popularity (and size!) The truffle fries are not to be missed in my books!

Creekbread has amazing woodfired pizza - both at a cozy eat in restaurant or to take away. This is always our Friday night weekend arrival take away order. It is a quick walk to pick up and the prices / quality can't be beat!

Excellent bowls prepared quickly for take away or eating in the unpretentious cafe or on the patio. Highly recommend the Tuna Poke Bowl. The location is next door, only steps away from Creekside Base Camp.

This is our favourite restaurant in Whistler - and it is within walking distance to Creekside Base Camp! Fabulous cuisine, with a focus on seafood but they do everything well including cocktails, desserts and with a worthy wine list. Cozy and casual! Reservations recommended but may not be required.

Joffre Lakes Trail is a series of three beautiful alpine lakes. A car is required to access the trail head. The trail is quite accessible so it can be very busy at times. Visit BC Parks website for access requirements (day passes are required at some times of the year). This is a moderate hike for incredible turquoise lake and stunning mountain views. Visit All Trails app for information about the trail and access.

A challenging hike, the trail head is an easy drive from Creekside Base Camp. The hike affords stunning views enroute to an alpine lake. Not as busy as some other local options, one of my favourite Whistler hikes! Visit the All Trails app for details.

Incredible alpine views on Blackcomb Mountain. There are many options for hiking on Blackcomb! For an easier day, you can either take the gondola from Whistler Village (approximately $90 Cdn) or for more of a challenge, hike up the mountain to access incredible alpine trails at the top of Blackcomb Mountain. Pictured here are Alpine Walk and Overlord Trail. Consult the AllTrails app (and follow me) Lexa Hobenshield for some of our favourites.

You can navigate the River of Golden Dreams on your own, but for an easy and carefree experience consider Backroads, based at Alta Lake. They provide all of the gear (including safety gear), paddling instruction and navigation tips before you set out on your journey. You can choose self-guided or guided trips down the lazy river. Return transportation also included. Lovely mountain, lake and river views; wildlife and nature. We chose the self-guided option (river is easy to navigate). Trip time was approximately three hours and cost was about $160 Cdn.
