LF does good pizza and offers good Italian wines to go with it. You’ll find it in the weirdly quirky ‘Ettalong Emporio’ complex that houses other interesting restaurants such as the excellent Middle Eastern Saffron and Cinema Paradiso.

An understated exterior hides a good Greek restaurant. Can be lots of fun in the evenings I’ve heard but I like it at lunch on the outside deck and watch the ferries come and go.

YB is an upmarket Italian deli opp Woolworth in Woy Woy. There are 5 table in the little courtyard at the back where you can enjoy great coffee and sublime Prociutto&Provolone Croissants. Or Pork&Fennel sausage rolls. Or amazing sweet pastries.

Pearl Beach ocean pool is tucked in at the Southern end of PB. Once you’ve mastered the slippery steps it’s sublime swimming, often by yourself.

One hour walk through pristine bush, one half is along a slowly inclining path (coming from PB), in the second half you’ll climb down through a rainforest like setting.

Walk from the Northern end of PB to Umina along the headline to Umina (at low tide) or along an even more precarious path higher up around the headline. The sign warns about falling rocks but people walk there any way. There used to be a tram believe it or not, but the path has since crumbled away and is quite narrow in places. You’ll need to get onto the main road for a short bit at Umina Point. Great view from there.

The PLC has a great outdoor water playground safe for little kids. The indoor pool has the giant water scoop that kids love, but check it’s operating hours.
