Excellent botanical gardens with Victorian hothouses. In December the light show is also highly recomended.

Lots of great pubs and restaurants. About a 20 minute walk away going the most direct route. I recommend walking along the cycletrack that is accessed from Victoria Park and takes you along the Water of Leith. This takes about 30 mins, see map attached.
