Great view and ambience for lunch or dinner

A great place to go for sun downers and dinner...can swim for a bit at Utorda beach prior, provided it is safe. There is an open shower in the shack to rinse off after your swim if you choose to. It is also lovely for lunch, but does get hot. It is approx 10-12 mins drive from the villa (north bound).

Very cute little cafe carved out of a garage in a building - non-descript place but cutely done and has 2 tables. FRESH breads, croissants, pies, quiches - you name it...lovely coffee too. I'd highly recommend this place run by a passionate German lady and her Indian husband.

Sightseeing

This is a lovely day out further South (close to the border of Karnataka). Drive along the coast and continue to Cabo de Rama to see the Fort, and end up in Agonda. Enjoy a swim as the waves are superb and lunch at Dunhill. Do set out early. You may then return via the highway.

It is names after Lord Rama, in Hindu mythology- Ramayana, and was built in 1679 by the Hindu Maratha King, Shivaji. The view is beautiful.

Panjim can be combined when visiting the cathedral in Velha Goa (Old Goa). It is the capital and still has remnants of Portugese architecture, and is located on the banks of Mandovi river. You may include some shopping at some boutiques or flea markets. You should set out early to pack in everything including Se Cathedral!

You could start of in Benaulim for breakfast at Pausenbrot (grab and go or sit, but it is small) or Cafe Beno with a better ambience (also in Benaulim, near Trinity church), and then drive towards Orlim (stop to see the Mario Miranda theme store - Mario's art is synonymous with Goa), and drive further south to Assolna and onwards to Betul. Drive up the little hill to see the Betul church, then tea / coffee / loo break at the erstwhile Mayfair hotel and then drive back to Assolna. Enjoy a Goan lunch by the river at Starlight or Fisherman's wharf. Starlight is less touristy and more reasonably priced.
