Across from the marina and Veterans Memorial park and beach, this iconic downtown shop hasn’t changed since I was a kid. Enormous sub sandwiches and super-premium ice cream make this a must-stop on any neighborhood walk! Make sure to bring cash (or use the ATM inside for a small fee)!

Ok, you’ll need to drive over the bridge to Wisconsin for this gem…The BEST flame grilled burgers, served simply, in a tiny diner where time has stood still. Also serving handmade malts and shakes, with a vintage juke box. A must-stop for my family every time we are in town. You’ll smell the burgers from the car! Cash only (or use the ATM inside).

The best meat pies in town are almost across the street! We call them pasties (pronounced “pass-tee,” and not to be mistaken with exotic dancer apparel) and Col J’s has so many varieties made in-house every day. Make sure to take some frozen pasties home with you.
