A nice lake to visit for ice-cream and a stroll. The path around it flat and pushchair friendly and takes under an hour to walk around. There are stunning views of the mountains from here too.

There is a fantastic playground on the edge of this pretty lake that will keep the kids entertained for hours. Swim out to the wooden platform or paddle in the shallows. Perfect spot for a picnic.

A great outdoor forest-experience adventure park to take the kids to. Swing on the monkey bars, cross the creek on a raft and lift the floodgates. Be prepared to get a bit muddy!

The somewhat overlooked 'other' castle definitely deserves a visit. The guided tours are reportedly more comprehensive and informative than those in Neuschwanstein. Book online to avoid the queues.

The trail to the top offers a fantastic hiking opportunity but alternatively there is a cable car to the summit. Either way the view of Füssen and surrounds from the top is absolutely breathtaking.
