Kandos is an interesting little town, reinventing itself from the past cement works. Nowadays the village embraced the artistic community and number of city escapees are flocking into the region. There is bicycle track you can reach out to the nearby village of Rylstone and explore this historic town and visit the local quaint shops and cafes.

Kandos

Rylstone has some great shops sourced by locals, clothes, art and crafts gifts, antique and interesting pre-loved things.

This club was designed by two distinguished Australian golf architects, who also designed the Royal Queensland Golf Course. Henbury will celebrate its 90th anniversary in August, 2021 and is well known by keen golfers around Australia. There is a small bistro which opens Fri - Sun between 5:30pm and 9pm.

Dunns Swamp is our local swimming spot only 25km from SNUGL Tiny House. It is a serene waterway set in amid picturesque woodlands of scribbly gum and striking pagoda rock formations amongst the Cuddgegong River. Ideal for bushwalking, kayaking and swimming.

Ganguddy-Dunns Swamp campground
Dunns Swamp is our local swimming spot only 25km from SNUGL Tiny House. It is a serene waterway set in amid picturesque woodlands of scribbly gum and striking pagoda rock formations amongst the Cuddgegong River. Ideal for bushwalking, kayaking and swimming.
Mount Rocky is the peak immediately above SNUGL, and is scalable. From the top are magnificent views over Kandos and beyond. The trail leads to more or less straight up and requires an easy scramble near the top. Please allow 45-60mins per way, take water. You will find the starting point of the trail at the top end of Roxborough Street.

Many woodland bird species whose populations have fallen elsewhere, remain relatively common and easily seen here.

It is one of our favourite wineries in Mudgee and they produce an interesting range of Portuguese varieties including Tinto Cão and Tauriga National. Their reds tend to be robust but are well balanced and show excellent varietal expression.
