Beach fun
You can access the beach by parking in the Stengel beach access lot or hike 20-minutes down to the beach via the trail off Seabird Road (one street to the left). Stengel features a pretty waterfall, great tide pools during low tide, and is a great place to let your dog explore.
The beach access is a bit tough down a huge rock with a metal guidepost. There are easier access points if you have limited mobility or small children in your party.

The rec center has a huge lap pool, saunas, tennis courts and a basketball court. It's a great place to spend an afternoon. There is also a path there that leads to Ohlson Beach which is easier to access than Stengel beach but offers a long sandy strand and lots of rocks and pools to explore.

37405 Shoreline HwyThe rec center has a huge lap pool, saunas, tennis courts and a basketball court. It's a great place to spend an afternoon. There is also a path there that leads to Ohlson Beach which is easier to access than Stengel beach but offers a long sandy strand and lots of rocks and pools to explore.
City/town information
This is a peaceful little town with a souvenir shop, underrated art galleries, two great markets and a number of good restaurants.
The Surf market on the ocean side of the highway is more upscale with a great selection of cheeses and wine. It also has a great sandwich shop in the back which is perfect if you want a quick beach picnic on Gualala Point, Bowling Ball Beach, or elsewhere.

A great breakfast and lunch place 5 miles South of Sea Ranch. They offer good coffee, sandwiches, and baked goods. It's a great place to get a quick lunch and their breakfast biscuits are AMAZING!

Great outdoor patio where you can watch the large surfers challenging the high surf while you eat a nice lunch or dinner. Good chowder, fish and chips, and burger fare. There is a pizza place on the floor below as well. The patio gets a bit chilly so make sure to dress warm.

Beautiful place with a historic lighthouse and the rocky cliffs that surround it. This is the closest point in the Continental US to Hawaii and provides a very beautiful hour-long hike with many instagram worthy views.

Not sure it's worth its own trip, but if paired with a trip to Mendocino, Point Arena or wine tasting it will provide some pretty cool social media pics.

A cute beach with a huge amount of bowling ball-sized spherical rocks that are visible at low tide. It's about a 30-minute drive North of Sea Ranch. Not sure it's worth its own trip, but if paired with a trip to Mendocino, Point Arena or wine tasting it will provide some pretty cool social media pics.
The heart of Anderson Valley wine country is about a 75-minute drive from Sea Ranch. There are a few dozen tasting rooms to choose from. If beer is more your style, drive another 30 minutes to Boonville where the famous Anderson Valley Brewing Company is located.

This is my favorite spot in the Anderson Valley wine region and it's a bit of a haul, 80 or 90 minutes away from Sea Ranch. The wines are very good and they're paired with fresh goat cheese from the farm. It's really fun to get some cheese and taste wines on the patio overlooking the farm. If you time it right you'll even get to see the goats return home to the barn from grazing the pasture.

A really cute non-denominational chapel located on Sea Ranch property. It's open for all residents and guests of the Sea Ranch. It's a beautiful building and a good place to go for a quick prayer or a few moments of reflection.
