$10 parking and on weekends get there early! There is a beach and the water is pristine! You can launch a kayak, boat, or even a tube and snorkeling gear. Bring your own or rent from several local shops. Check out Hospital Hole where manatees often visit. During the winter months you will definitely encounter some manatees. Other months it is 50/50 but chances are better when it is less crowded.

MUST READ: Manatee Encounters

Manatee encounters are incredible and passive interaction makes the best possible experience for everyone. If you are calm and respectful of their space, they may initiate contact with you. DO observe quietly and respect their space! DO NOT chase, yell, make a scene, announce their presence, or crowd them. People may try to get as close as possible, bumping into each other, and crowd them from above. Manatees are slow moving and need to come up for air. Crowding can make manatees and their young disoriented and separated from each other. It is a FELONY to harass manatees.
