If you're looking for something a bit different to traditional Cornish food, Amanzi offers cuisine from Africa. We've never had a bad time there and the ostrich kebab is very tasty!

This is the smallest of the beaches in Falmouth, but it offers a great place to launch kayaks and SUPs from. There is cafe, SUP/kayak hire and it is within easy reach of Gyllyngvase Beach and the South West Coast Path walk towards Maenporth. Public toilets are accessible too.
For us, this is the best beach to visit for a whole day because when the tide is in, the water is sheltered (normally!) and if the tide is out, the beach offers a huge amount of space to do whatever you enjoy doing on a day out at the beach. There are rock pools to explore and a river to splash about it. Get there early, because once the car park is full there is nowhere else to park. There is a cafe and toilets.

Take a trip over to Flushing from Prince of Wales Pier, Falmouth. The beach in Flushing is worth a visit. If you have children, there is a park there which offers views over to Falmouth.

Perfectly picturesque gardens that wind down to their own private beach. The Roskilly's ice cream and hot drink on the beach are worth the walk. After walking back through the gardens, eat on the cafe - the fod is fantastic! Would highly recommend a visit to Trebah. In our opinion, it is the best garden to visit in the area and we have an annual family pass.

Henry VIII built Pendennis Castle in 1540 to defend against a French invasion. It is free to walk around the outside of the castle and entry costs up to £10.90 for an adult, £6.50 for a child or £28.30 for a family (2 adults and up to 3 children). Well worth a visit.

Although parking is limited, if you get here early enough and pay in the 'honesty' box you're bound to have a great day out. The church grounds are beautiful and have some rather famous and old (one pirate gravestone at the entrance is particularly ancient) gravestones, the walk through the fields and on the coast path is stunning as you pass the mouth of the Helford River and you can soak in three contrasting beaches before a lunchtime pint at The Ferryboat Inn. This corner of Penryn hosts an abundance of plants and shrubs from around the world. A great place for couples to wander or families to explore, it really is for everyone. The café sells homemade cakes and a traditional cream tea. A must visit when in Falmouth.
