Our favorite place on Mission Bay to rent Hobie Cat sailboats and stand up paddleboards (SUP). It's the perfect spot to sail out and enjoy the cool breeze on the water. Parking here is difficult on the weekends, but don't give up, someone will leave eventually, it's worth the wait. You can navigate your sailboat across the bay to the Barefoot Bar at Paradise Point for lunch or a drink.

Parking here is difficult on the weekends, but don't give up, someone will leave eventually, it's worth the wait. You can navigate your sailboat across the bay to the Barefoot Bar at Paradise Point for lunch or a drink.

One of the nice beaches around, just down the hill about 5 minutes drive. Parking can be difficult though. If the lot is full, park on the street by Caroline's Cafe (which also has a pay lot) or up the street from the Cafe.

This beautiful sandy beach is the crown jewel of La Jolla. There is great surfing near Scripps Pier, tide pools to explore north of the pier, a view of La Jolla cove to the south and plenty of room to just lay on the sand and splash in the waves. For adventures you can take a kayak tour of the La Jolla Sea Caves from here.

La Jolla Shores Hotel

A must see for visitors. The gliderport is on top of the bluff overlooking the ocean. You can watch surfers, dolphins, and hang gliders fly along the top of the bluff. You can see for many miles!

This was a beautiful public beach until it was taken over by seals. They now live on the beach protected by the sea wall. Beautiful view of the beaches and coast from here. Worth a visit. It's within walking distance from La Jolla Cove.
