Bardstown road in the Highlands has in my opinion, one of the most eclectic eateries and nightlife in Louisville. You can find everything as simple as Wendy's fast food, to Jack Fry's ( steak), to Ramsis Cafe Around the World (food from everywhere on their menu), to Funmi's Cafe (Nigerian Cusine) to the cutest at the Purrfect Day Cat Cafe. Also set inside a beautiful church is the Noche Mexican BBQ.
And these are just a few, there are many. If the weather is suiting, just take a walk for Bardstown Road has so much to offer also in the way of bars and pubs, you can definitely find what suits your fancy on Bardstown Rd.

Take a nice leisurely walk up to and across Louisville's Big Four Bridge into Indiana if you'd like. The site's are beautiful, bring your camera or just enjoy the views. There are also many walking sidewalks along the bottom of the bridge, a few swings to stop along the way and enjoy, the children's water park (for the summer months), and a lot going on on any given weekend on the water front. ( Mostly in the summer months).
