This store is located right outside the entrance to our condo. They have everything in terms of dry foods, soap, shampoo, and fresh foods as well. The selection of fresh fruits/vegetables is often limited there I would go to the larger grocery stores for those items.

This is a big grocery store where you can find pretty much anything their produce here is of better quality.

This grocery store is a block or so away from the condo and is not as big as Mas x Menos but if you are looking for a place close to the condos, Mega Super has a variety of products and a meat counter for chicken beef etc.

Auto Mercado is located in Herradura about 10 min by car from Jaco right off the Costanera. This grocery store has more specialty items and American items. If you are looking for a specific American brand here is where you would have the best chance of finding it! Also, if you are a vegetarian they have a big selection of veggie burgers and vegan/vegetarian meat substitutes that are not available in the other grocery stores.

Auto Mercado is located in Herradura about 10 min by car from Jaco right off the Costanera. This grocery store has more specialty items and American items. If you are looking for a specific American brand here is where you would have the best chance of finding it! Also, if you are a vegetarian they have a big selection of veggie burgers and vegan/vegetarian meat substitutes that are not available in the other grocery stores.

It starts at 4pm and you can sit outside right infront of the beach and watch some of the best surfers from the area compete, it's a great time!

This bar is located in Playa Hermosa about a 10 minute car ride from Jaco. My favorite is to go on Saturday when there is a surf competition right out front held by the restaurant/bar. Food Scene
This place has really strong delicious coffee drinks, there is not much of a selection of food occassionaly there are bread items but I would reccomend this just as a coffee stop. They also sell bags of coffee for around $10 if you would like to bring some back home with you.

This Thai restaurant has wonderful fresh food and the owners are very friendly people. A personal favorite is their vegetable green curry, this is a great place for both vegetarians and meat eaters. It is one of my favorite newer restaurants in Jaco, great for a dinner with family or a date night! Make sure you check their hours before you go because they close for a few hours midday before dinner service.

This is my favorite pizza place in Jaco, and they have delivery! My personal favorite is El Marni and the garlic knots are really good as well. If you get the biggest pizza, it is a very good size and great for sharing.

Amancios is a great authentic Italian restaurant here in Jaco. The owner and his wife are from Italy and they have great pasta dishes and pizzas. A personal favorite of mine is the cheese ravioli that is handmade in the restaurant. My boyfriend loves seafood fettuccini and the Bolognese. This restaurant is great for a date night or family meal.

A personal favorite of mine is the cheese ravioli that is handmade in the restaurant. My boyfriend loves seafood fettuccini and the Bolognese. This restaurant is great for a date night or family meal.

It is a very inexpensive restaurant but is great for breakfast or lunch, it is open until 6pm. The buffet consists of beans, rice, a variety or meat choices (they usually have a fish option as well), various salads and includes a juice drink all for the about 3,500 colones which is a great deal and the portions are big!

Jaco Fine Meats is the place to go if you are looking for very high-quality meat in Jaco. They are known for their bacon, steaks, ribs etc. Also, the owner will smoke meats and that is available for sale as well. A little pricey but very high quality meat!

This is one of the best private clinics in all of Jaco. This is not a place to go for an immediate emergency as they have hours from 8am to 1pm opening again at 2pm to 7pm Monday-Friday. On Saturday's they are open only from 8am to 2pm and are closed on Sunday's. The head doctor is from Cuba and is highly qualified, call and make an appointment for anything from a burn to a x-ray and much more. They speak English and Spanish and are very professional.
