Jindabyne is the gateway to the Snowy Mountains. The Jindabyne township is built on the foreshores of a stunning freshwater lake and surrounded by the mountains that pose as a backdrop to a town unlike any other.
Jindabyne is one of the highest settlements of its size in Australia, at 918 metres above sea level, but it wasn't always that way. Originally the small town was situated on land that is now underneath Lake Jindabyne, the township was transferred to its present location in the 1960s due to the damming of the Snowy River as part of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme.
There is a wide variety of bars and restaurants, shops and services, Churches and a cinema, so when you're not exploring the great outdoors you will still have plenty to do.

Breakfast, Coffee, Brunch and Lunch this is a culinary delight with the team at Birchwood. They cater really well for dietary requirements also.

Bring your own transport to town as public transport is limited to none. Taxi's are very limited, with the convenient location of my unit you will be able to walk to town for a night out.
There are some local shuttles if you wish to book in for a hassle free drop off and pick up from the snow.

Skiing or Boarding
If you are after lessons on mountain during our winter season. Make sure you book yourself in ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Especially if you are with kids and want some time alone on Mountain, lessons and daycare are very popular.

Activities for the whole family!
- Bowling Club - They have a soft play in the dining area for wet weather days or entertain the kids while you have a peacful meal.
- Banjo Paterson park has a kids park with a new flying fox for kids of all ages. There is free BBQ use and a great area to play cricket or soccer on a warm day
- Thredbo leisure centre has a full size pool with a slide and mission inflatable. Check their site for full operational times. Great if the weather in town is less than desirable.
- Lake swims - BYO inflatables and have a great day on the lake shore. Set up and enjoy! Claypits is swim only!
