GREAT homemade food with spectacular views! And at a reasonable price. Don't worry if there's a wait. It goes quickly and you can buy a bottle of wine or beer and sit on the rockers while soaking up the scenery! Sadly, it closes every year the last day of October. DON'T miss this place if you get the chance!

This was the home of poet/author, Carl Sandburg and is in a beautiful setting with great hiking trails. Make sure you stop by the barns to pet the baby goats. Mrs. Sandburg was an award winning goat breeder and the lineage of these goats continues . This is not far from our place and usually a great stop on the way in or out. The only fee if for a tour of the home, but you can hike or tour the grounds and barns without charge.

This was the home of poet/author, Carl Sandburg and is in a beautiful setting with great hiking trails. Make sure you stop by the barns to pet the baby goats. Mrs. Sandburg was an award winning goat breeder and the lineage of these goats continues . This is not far from our place and usually a great stop on the way in or out. The only fee if for a tour of the home, but you can hike or tour the grounds and barns without charge.

Plan to spend most of the day there if you go, the grounds are magnificent. They've expanded and there are now several restaurants. The ticket is a bit pricey, but they do have specials. And if you live nearby the discounted yearly pass may be worth buying on the day of ticket purchase.
