This is an awesome spot just 15 minutes down the road from our place. They have a large patio as well as trendy interior with plenty of seating. We love their organic offerings including locally roasted coffee, smoothies, bagels, granola, and more. They're also open later than most coffee shops, offering wine and beer paired with cheese and meat plates in the evenings.

CUP & SAUCER serves high-quality beverages and baked goods surrounded by modern decor in downtown Brevard. We love hanging out here to read a book, journal, or edit photos. The coffee is absolutely incredible and customer service is great.

Breweries
Asheville is known as "Beer City USA" for good reason, and the outlying small towns are following suit! We have countless micro, craft, and larger scale breweries within a short distance of our property.
We sometimes refer to Sierra Nevada as "The Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory of Beer." This place is simply amazing. The scale of it is stupefying in and of itself, not to mention the beautiful copper brewing equipment, German-style dining hall, and outdoor patio with a large amphitheater perfect for the many outdoor events they host. The beer is awesome and they have lots of rotating seasonals. Their food is incredible, all locally sourced small plates. The menu also changes seasonally and is comprised of chef-inspired creative cuisine.

They frequently have family-friendly events such as outdoor movies, hayrides, and more!
Etowah's first and only brewery is a really special one. Sideways is 5 minutes from the house and located on a farm that grows ingredients used in the brewing process, as well as U-pick flower bouquets. Sideways uses a natural fermentation brewing process, so no carbonation is added. This makes for a very nutritious & delicious brew. Their tasting room is intimate and structured like a wine tasting, guided by the owners and brewers themselves. This is definitely a must-stop!

Bring lots of layers and waterproof clothing
Weather in the mountains is extremely variable, particularly in the winter months. Bring lots of layers, including a rain jacket and waterproof footwear if possible. A warm jacket, hat and gloves are recommended in the winter, as we frequently drop into low temps and even get snow!
