Food scene

This is the best small restaurant on Isla, in my opinion. The cook is really a chef, and the food is local and mouthwatering! Prices are good for this quality food! It is a 5 minute walk from Casa Maggie in La Gloria, just down the hill near the grocery store

Another great place to eat. It is an upstairs location, (you need to be able to walk upstairs) but fantastic view and great local foods, and seafood dishes. We like to come for breakfast. It is a short block from Casa Maggie, just up from the Caribbean coastal road.

Sightseeing

Local women's beading cooperative with one-of-a-kind jewelry and beaded purses, made on site. You can order a custom made piece and have it ready for you to pick up in 2-3 days. Or you can take a morning and bead with the local (very friendly) Mayan women and take home your own creation. Quality work done at very affordable prices. The sales help these local women support their families. It is a 5 minute walk from Casa Maggie, down the hill across from the Catholic church, next to the Red Cross. Highly recommended!
