The Wallace Monument is a world-famous landmark, built in a stunning location to honour William Wallace. With 246 steps to the top, this building boasts the best views Stirling has to offer. For the “Outlander” fans among us (ourselves included), Doune Castle is a must-visit. This historic ruin features as Castle Leoch in the hit-series - and home to Clan Mackenzie - but was once owned in real life by Robert Stewart (Governor of Scotland) in 1361. A relaxing day out, with a nice walk along the river circling the castle. Lots of nice places to eat in nearby Doune as well! Although we have never been inside the Castle itself, for a small fee you can go inside the ruin and take a guided tour. Adult ticket: £9.00

We love Loch Katrine for its stunning scenery and fantastic boat tour. The tour takes approx. 2 hours (return) and guides you through some of the most dramatic and beautiful scenery in the Central Belt of Scotland. It is also a location steeped in history, with Queen Victoria hosting the official opening of the reservoir in October 1859. If cycling is your thing, you can hire bikes (on site) and cycle the length of the Loch. There and back this will take you about 2.5hours, but you have the option to take the boat to the top of the Loch and cycle back (roughly 1hr15min on the bike). There’s also a quaint little cafe if you fancy a drink and a bite to eat.

Ben A'an is one of the most popular amongst Scotland's smaller hills. Often known as the mountain in miniature, its position at the heart of the Trossachs makes it a truly wonderful viewpoint. Takes roughly 45 minutes to reach the top. Fairly steep incline most of the way.
