I've never taken the time to visit this unique part of our area but hear it is a must see. Years ago a gentleman was led to inscribe various bible verses on rocks and the Jefferson County, PA Historical society helps maintain the site to this day.

Another of our wonderful local state parks, the dam was rebuilt recently to continue to provide flood protection as well as water recreational activities. When I was young, this is the lake my grandparents took me to swim.

You can even buy a carton to bring back with you packed in dry ice for the trip. Penn State is 90 miles away and has many other things to see and do including the amazing Arboretum!

If you can't stay with us, this would be a place I would recommend. Welcoming and gracious hosts! They also host ah annual Herb Fest usually the first Saturday in August that we take our alpacas to, when our schedules allow.
